Greetings WCA members,
Mo Winograd, a long-time resident and member of the WCA, recently came to me with an idea. She thought it would be great to have a contest to come up with the best design for a WV logo. The WCA board of directors loved the idea so we are moving forward. Please read Mo's write-up below. The deadline for submissions is July 5th.
So get ready to channel your inner Peter Max!!
Best,
Carol Seitz
Time to Strut Your Stuff
The Woodland Community Association is sponsoring a $100 cash prize and a $25 certificate for breakfast or lunch at Sweet Sue's to the winner of our
Design a WCA Logo Contest.
Yes, we think our WCA is important enough in all our lives that we ought to be proud to Strut Our Stuff and we'd like to proceed by first having a contest to see who can come up with a logo that captures what the Valley means to all of us. The contest is open to anyone with the creative talent to present an entry. Because we are all volunteers, we have to ask anyone interested to communicate with us electronically. You can submit your entry as a pdf, Word doc, jpeg, scan or any other electronic format. We will vote on all the entries in a fashion similar to how we voted on the pet photo contest. Of course you can snail mail us a picture of your submission to PO Box 509 as well. For electronic submissions please email wvview@gmail.com
When we think of the Valley we think of our Woodland stream, the trout fisherman, the serenity, the pines, the bears and the birds so let your imagination run wild and help us Strut our Stuff by Strutting your own.
The deadline to enter is July 5th. Once we have selected our logo, we are going to have stickers printed for our cars that will be free to members in good standing and then on July 10th we will take a vote, by a show of hands, to see how many folks will be interested in tee shirts or baseball caps with our logo. So not only will you get a cash prize but you will have the thrill of seeing your design sported on cars and (possibly) people around the valley!
Please remember when you are designing your entry that you pay per color to print an image. "We" will have to pay for any extra colors. So you might want to keep the design to one or two colors.
