2015 FoV A Great Success

This year's Festival of the Voice was another great triumph. There was so much wonderful music to choose from that it was hard to decide what to attend. But with the depth and scope of the talent it was really hard to go wrong. Every performance I attended was just wonderful!!

And there were many, many friends and neighbors in the crowd. So socializing while waiting for the shows to starts was fun too!

Congrats to everyone who makes the festival possible each year. It is really a great asset to our community! Viva La Festival of the Voice!!

Volunteer For The FoV

Phoenicia Festival of the Voice
July 29 - August 2, 2015 and over the next
2 months (June-July) as we gear up our
6th Annual Festival

The Phoenicia Festival of the Voice needs volunteers to help w/ prep during June/July) & during the Festival (July 29 - August 2) which will present world-class Opera, Broadway, Choral, Early Music & Aboriginal singers.

- Backstage crew support/stage hands

- Help building the main field stage & fencing around the perimeter

- Security

- Housing/hosting the artists in, or near to Phoenicia

- Food preparation for the artists' meals & post performance parties (also setting up/cleaning up)

- Street greeters/directing parking/Ushers

- Transportation of artists

- Assembling & distribution of artists' gift packages

- Placing & taking down signage in & around Phoenicia

-Answering phones in the Festival office in Phoenicia

Festival Of The Voice Starts Tonight!

You have had to be living under a rock not to know that this weekend is the 5th annual Festival of the Voice. It kicks off tonight with flamenco! I am very excited about this year's performances and plan to attend everything I can.

Phoenicia Festival Of The Voice 2013

Don't forget that the Phoenicia Festival of the Voice is coming up next weekend August 1st - 4th. As usual, they are planning an exciting schedule of entertainment and education. There are many varied performances scheduled as well as "Latte Lectures" to learn more about the music you will be hearing over the weekend. Festival of the Voice 2013

The Phoenicia Festival of the Voice announced recently that they would be performing Rigoletto as the main Saturday night event at this year's festival. Performing the piece will be a world class group of artists.

There will be lots of other great performances scattered over the four days of the festival too. And they are even planning to open the festivities on Thursday night with a Gospel performance. Another Awesome Festival Of The Voice

The Festival of the Voice wrapped up on Sunday ending a four day long string of great events. I went to as much of it as I could. It was all fantastic. For me it was the first time in a long time that I didn't have to work or host the party, so I was in heaven. I could just kick back and enjoy the music. Sorry to say that since I was in relaxation mode I only took a few snapshots with my phone, mostly of WV friends. Anyway, the festival was a resounding success. I can't wait to see what they will do next year.

Festival Of The Voice Fundraiser

The Festival of the Voice continues it's fund raising efforts this weekend in Saugerties. Here are the details.

Festival of the Voice co-founders Maria Todaro , Kerry Henderson and Louis Otey will raise their voices in an opera concert to help inaugurate the new Saugerties Performing Arts Factory (S.P.A.F.) this Sunday April 22nd. This exciting gala concert will be the grand finale to a weekend filled with arts events from around the region and will serve to introduce this important new arts venue to the public as well as raising funds for the Festival.
The dynamic trio will present an afternoon of sparkling opera, gems from the world of song and musical theater favorites. Special guest artists include the up and coming young soprano Lily Arbisser, accompanist Douglas Martin and the acclaimed concert pianist and Festival favorite Justin Kolb.

Art Auction for The Festival of the Voice

The fund raising festivities have begun for the 2012 Festival of the Voice. There will be an art auction at the Emerson Resort and Spa on February 19th. Come and support the festival! Here are the details.

'Festival of the Voice' A HUGE Success!!

Sorry that I am a bit late with this post but it has been busy here in the valley. Just wanted to let everyone who wasn't around Phoenicia last weekend know that the first annual 'Festival of the Voice' was a smashing success!! There was a lot of great music at the different venues around town. I went to a lot of the performances and had a marvelous time. There were quite a few WV people at the event (see photos below). Congratulations to everyone who made the event happen! I am already looking forward to next year!!
