Bamboo StreetSUP

The very creative, and always innovative, WCA member, James Wolf has just invented a bamboo skate board. He put this very fun video of it up on YouTube. He is riding it in the streets around his factory in Vietnam. Very cool. Go James!!

Tina Turnstile Sings Us A Message

Unitard comedy troupe member (and WV resident), David Ilku, has a new video. In it, David puts on his best Tina Turner drag to send us all a message about the corporate takeover of our communities. Once you get past how hysterical David looks as Tina Turner his message is a serious one. But as always, David is putting out his ideas wrapped in a hilarious package. You go girl....I mean boy.....I mean girl......oh, whatever....LOL!!

Town Board Meetings On YouTube

I was very happy to learn that Town Clerk Joyce Grant is posting the Shandaken Town Board meetings on YouTube. I think this is a wonderful thing especially for those residents that are here only on weekends or in the summer. Also for those who don't subscribe to cable TV. Now you can follow the town business on your computer from anywhere in the world. Very cool!

The meetings are sometimes long so they will be in several parts but that is better than having no access to them at all. Here is the message Joyce sent to me regarding the Town's YouTube page.

To provide more convenient & accessible information to our citizens, Shandaken Town Board Meeting Videos will be available online at the Town's Youtube page. Video's will still be available to watch on Time Warner Channel 23 but this will provide this service to those that don't live here full time or don't use Time Warner TV.

Joe DeSarle Lights Up The Stage

Happy New Year to you all. After some brief flurries yesterday the weather got really cold overnight. The temps are climbing today but I thought I would post a couple of videos to get your toes tapping and help you warm up a little quicker in this dreary winter weather. Both of these videos feature the dynamic vocal stylings of our own local songsmith, Joe DeSarle. Joe performed at the Sinatra Birthday Bash on December 7th at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank NJ. All reports are that Joe nailed his performance and wowed the crowd. Check it out for yourself. Great job, Joe!!

Occupy Cozumel Videos

Here are some underwater videos from Tommy Healy. They are really cool. As Tommy says in the comments, if you want to know what diving feels like just watch the turtle in the first video as he glides effortlessly through the water. Very cool!

Here is a video by WCA member Josh Sheldon. It is of Woodland Valley Road by the Holz Farm during the flood. It gives you a good idea how high the water was at that point.

Burning Hat Duet

I have never posted a video to the blog before but someone sent me one that I just couldn't resist putting up.

It is a video of the WCA's own Dennis Havel playing music while his hat burned. It is absolutely amazing that anyone should play the musical saw so intently that their hat would burst into flames. I am still not sure it wasn't done with smoke and mirrors. But regardless, there is some pretty fancy talent coming out of Woodland Valley! God, I love this place!!

Raging Water Video

Sorry folks, I am a bit behind on my posting, busy, Busy!! Anyway, for those out of the valley, someone sent me this link to a video made by Faye Storms. It will give everyone who is not here a chance to see how much rain we have had lately. Thank goodness the weather has gotten a little better this week. But it looks like we go back to the "scattered shower" forecasts again on Sunday. Rain, rain go away!!

Woodland Valley resident Tommy Healy sent this link to a dive video he created on YouTube. He is a certified diver and put together this video from all the photos he has taken on his many dive trips. All the photos were taken at different locations in the Caribbean and Micronesia. It makes me want to dust off my own diving license!
