For WCA Members - Summer Fun Schedule

For all you members of the Woodland Community Association here is a list of upcoming events.

SUMMER FUN SCHEDULE - I have planned a variety of fun activities for the WCA this summer. Here is a brief list in chronological order.

Saturday, June 19th - 4:00pm – CMRR Train Charter & Party
The WCA has chartered the Catskill Mountain Railroad for a community train ride. We will gather at 4:00pm at the ESRM station on Lower High St in Phoenicia, board the train and then return and have a party at the station. There will be food at the party. The event is free to all WCA members and their families with an RSVP to me at wvview@gmail.com. Please let me know exactly how many people will be attending. You may bring guests but guests will be charged $10.00 per adult - $5.00 per child. All single members of the WCA are allowed one free guest. Please be sure to RSVP. I need an accurate count for both the railroad and the food. Those of you who do not RSVP beforehand will be charged $10.00 per person at the station (I am not kidding about this folks).

Saturday, July 10th - 4:00 pm - Roxmor Clubhouse - Annual WCA Summer Meeting
This is usually our only official meeting of the year so please try and attend! Snacks will be served.

Sunday, July 25th 3:00 pm - Community Potluck with Menla Center Staff
Menla Mountain Retreat and Conference Center has again graciously agreed to co-host (with the WCA) a potluck dinner gathering on their property. It will be another great opportunity for us to strengthen our friendships with the folks at the center. Bring a dish to share. We are supplying the dinner, the Menla folks will be supplying the dessert. PLEASE RSVP to me by July 18th at wvview@gmail.com if you plan to attend so we can get an idea of how many will be joining us. Please let me know what you plan to bring when you RSVP so we can organize the food. I am looking forward to seeing you all there!

Saturday, August 7th Time & Place TBA – Dan Davis – Geology Talk
Back by popular demand, Dan Davis, Geologist for the NYCDEP will give another talk on the geology of Woodland Valley. The exact place and time is still being determined but I will let you all know asap.

Saturday, August 21st - 1:00pm - Annual Dershowitz Party
The Dershowitz family graciously hosts this fun-filled party every year and invites all of the WCA. Bring your bathing suit, a tennis racket (if you play) and a non-meat dish or drink to share. It is always a great time!!!

So that is the WCA 2010 summer schedule so far. I am working on one more exciting event but details are still not firm. I will be sending out an email with the details as soon as everything is set.
