One of the many wonderful events the Phoenicia Library has planned this season is The Bake-Off at Mama's Boy on Saturday May 12th.
It was a huge success last year raising much needed money for our library. Everyone had a blast!!! This year's event is sure to be just as big a smash. The event starts at 1PM on the 12th. We can all have fun and raise money for a good cause at the same time! See you there!
Below are the rules to enter if you feel inclined to compete:
1- Register at Mama’s Boy or the Phoenicia Public Library, no later than Friday, May 11th at 11AM. $10 fee per entry (more if you like!) all money goes to the library. WHEN YOU REGISTER MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR ENTRY NUMBER!
2- You may enter as often as you wish but each entry requires a separate fee.
3- You may enter any type of dessert: cakes, pies, cookies, brownies/blondies, etc. All desserts must be home-made and be divisible by at least eight pieces.
4- There are two categories that you can enter:
A- Pie & Cake
B- Finger food (Cookies, Brownies, Cupcakes. etc.)
5- Judging is blind. When you register you will be given a number. Please bring your entry to Mama’s Boy NO LATER THAN NOON on Saturday. Please make sure that your entry number is on the dessert, along with the name of your dessert.
6- Entries will be judged on overall deliciousness and appearance.
7- Prizes will be given for first, second and third place in each category along with 3 honorable mentions.
8- Remaining pieces of your dessert will them be auctioned and proceeds will benefit the library.
9- Please deliver your entries on something that you are not emotionally attached to, we can’t be responsible for loss or damage. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR ENTRY THE NIGHT BEFORE, WE HAVE NO ROOM TO ACCOMMODATE THEM.
10- Please get as many people involved as you can, either as contestants or as bidders!
