Power and Phone Outage Yesterday

There was an extended power and phone outage yesterday morning in Shandaken. A large portion of the town was effected including WV and Phoenicia. About 3:30am the electric and phone went dead here in the valley. All service remained out until about noon. Once everything came on again it stayed on. Unfortunately, the rest of the town wasn't as lucky and the outages continued through the day for some hamlets. I heard through the grapevine that a transfomer blew out on Rt 28 and was the cause of all the problems. But all is well that ends well and everything is back to normal now.
