Simpson Fishing Hole

Recently, Mike O'Neil forwarded me a photo sent to him by Jay Simpson. It was an old photo of Augustus J (Mickey) Simpson (1904-1994), Jay's father, as a boy. (Mickey Simpson and his brother were the original owners of Romer Mountain Park Ski Slope here in WV). He was fishing in a pool called "Simpson's Hole" which apparently was located along High St. above the Rt 28 bridge but several hundred yards below the Woodland Valley bridge. Jay believes that this photo was taken somewhere around 1912-1914. This photo was sold as a postcard by his Uncle Gus out of his store, AJ Simpson's, which was located in Phoenicia where Sweet Sue's is now.
