Local Flood Analysis Meeting

There will be a meeting next week to talk about solutions to the flooding problems in Phoenicia and Mt Tremper. Anyone who has ideas or would like to participate in the discussion should plan on attending. Here is the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management's email on the event with all the details.

Local Flood Analysis in Phoenicia and Mt. Tremper
Hamlet residents invited to public meetings

Phoenicia and Mt. Tremper residents are invited to attend public meetings to find solutions to flooding in their hamlets.

The Town of Shandaken is launching a flood reduction effort focused specifically on Phoenicia and Mt. Tremper. A range of strategies will be tested for their benefits and feasibility. Residents are asked to bring their ideas for reducing flooding to the public meeting. Residents can also help with identifying chronic areas of flooding in the hamlets.

The consulting firm Milone and MacBroom will combine public knowledge with engineering analysis to determine the causes of flooding and evaluate the identified solutions. The results will be presented at future public meetings. The process focuses on beneficial, feasible, and community supported solutions.

Please come out and help make this a success. Your hamlet is counting on you!
