Recycle Old Electronics

I was just sent a notice that they are going to have another recycling event in Kingston to collect old electronics. I have gotten rid of old or broken things this way myself. It is a great way to recycle old devices so that they are not just stuffed into some landfill somewhere. Here is the information.

Recycle your old electronics
Saturday, September 29th (households), 9 am – 1 pm.
400 Schwenk Drive (near Kingston Plaza), Kingston

Bringing you all up to date on town news, Richie Stokes, the town zoning and building inspector, has taken an unpaid leave of absence. If you would like to read about it, I have place a link below to an article in the Kingston Daily Freeman from yesterday regarding the situation. Linda & Bob McDonald - Always Helping

No matter where they are at any given moment WCA members Linda and Bob McDonald are always ready to lend a helping hand. They work tirelessly for their community here in Woodland Valley and recently were helping out down in Jacskonville, Florida. While they were there they were quoted in a local Florida newspaper about the effect that higher gas prices are having on home meal deliveries to seniors. Check out what they have to say at the link below.

Pain At the Pump hurts Non-Profits

I know Bob & Linda are always ready to help me with things for the community association. So I wanted to put up this video and take this time to give them a big shout-out for always being there for their community. Thanks Bob and Linda for all that you do!!!

Postal Worker Acquitted

I don't know if any of you saw this in the papers. The postal worker that hit Marilyn Dershowitz in Manhattan was acquitted this week.

Marilyn's death was such a tragedy. My sympathies once again go out to the family.

I think of Marilyn often and all that she brought to her community. She is still loved and missed by so many!

I want to take the time to remind you all that Nat has set up a fund to collect money to donate to the library and have them name it after her. I have recopied the donation directions below for those of you who feel so inclined.

1- a check can be made out Pay to the Order of "The Phoenicia Library Assoc. Marilyn Dershowitz Fund."  The entire name of the account should appear.

2-  money can be donated online via the library's PayPal account accessible at
 http://phoenicia.lib.ny.us
3-  money can be wired directly to
Phoenicia Library Association Marilyn Dershowitz Fund
Ulster Savings Bank

(If they receive checks written to Phoenicia Library, with the memo line it is in memory of Marilyn, that is fine, too, we can move the money over to the fund.)
