What's Happening In And Around Phoenicia

For those of you who have been out of town, there are several new things in and around Phoencia lately. First, we have the lovely new purple banners you see all around the hamlet. These banners have been supplied by the Rotary Club. The club does a lot of great things in the community and this is only the latest example. Love the color they chose!!

The next totally fun addition to Main St are Marietta's new cows and goat outside of Morne Imports. I just love these big, plastic beauties!! They are so much fun. But Marietta says that the younger children in town are rough on the small ones. They want to ride, squeeze. hug, pet, push over and generally maul the little creatures. It requires constant diligence on her part to keep them in their place (both the children and the plastic animal replicas). Marietta says that in the winter they will be gracing her windows (the cows, not the children). So, no worries, these fun statuettes are staying in town for the duration.

The last bit of news that I want to share is slightly outside of town on Rt 28. The new Phoenicia Diner will be opening next weekend. I talked to the owner and he is very nice. They are starting with a limited menu (just breakfast and lunch) so that they can get their bearings and begin on a positive note. So if you have a chance, go in and check out the new and improved Phoenicia Diner. I know I will be stopping by to sample the cuisine.
