Until sometime in the last month the view of this end of the valley was still very fuzzy if you tried to zoom in close. I checked it a couple of weeks ago and you can now see the houses all the way down into the Woodland Park Association. The weather report said we could get 1-3 inches but that didn't happen. At the most we have about 1/2 of sleet lying around. The town trucks have been up and down the valley but I just talked to a friend of mine who was out on Woodland Valley Road and he said it was slippery. The first part of the road was slipping into the stream and without repair would eventually collapse. The town highway crew has been working diligently to make sure that doesn't happen. The good news is that even though the Woodland Creek and the Esopus were high they staying within their banks in most places. The Esopus went above floodstage (which is 11 feet) in the early afternoon and there was some flooding in very low lying areas. But town didn't get any serious water to my knowledge and Woodland Valley was fine.
