Book Signing at the Phoenicia Library

On September 22 at 10.30 Ed Ostapczuk, author of Ramblings of a Charmed Circle Flyfisher, will sign copies and talk about his new book at the Phoenicia Library’s Jerry Bartlett Memorial Angling Collection, 9 Ava Maria Drive, Phoenicia, NY 12464.
Ostapczuk’s book offers a first-hand glimpse of life in and along Catskill streams, enlivened with bits and pieces of local lore that might otherwise be lost. Learn more about Catskill Bill Kelly’s big brown trout, the history of White Pond, the Peekamoose, and other arcane fly-fishing stories at the informal book signing.
Inspired by Cecil E. Heacox‘s article that appeared in Outdoor Life (March/April 1969) entitled “Charmed Circle of The Catskills”  Ostapczuk has spent decades following Heacox’s  journey  on  the waters of the Esopus, Beaverkill, Willowemoc, Neversink, Schoharie, Rondout, and Delaware Rivers. A licensed fly fishing guide and instructor, he is the recipient of several local and regional conservation awards for his efforts to preserve and protect the wild trout streams of the Catskills.
